Due to TB testing yesterday, we're a bit behind on making all of our natural Christmas decorations this year. So today has been all hand on deck. There's orange, lemon and lime slices drying in the range and tops of radiators, cinnamon sticks a plenty, pine cones bulging out of sacks, and a few miles of ribbon and raffia for good measure. It's a fiddly task but the whole place smells like one big Christmas cake. Yum!
We'll have the products on our website in the next few weeks for dispatch from December 1st, so place your orders soon before we sell out. For our wreaths we aim to ship those slightly later in December so that they stay fresh and lovely for as long as possible over the festive season, however, if you'd like your wreath earlier then please let us know.
Farm wise, this week is pretty much all about the annual Bovine TB testing. When 'the farmer' isn't tied up with his beloved cattle he's seeing to the sheep and tinkering about with tractors.
Meanwhile, on the plot things are starting to slow down for winter. We've put some of the plots to bed under a nice thick layer of mulch in the hope that the worms will do their stuff over the winter. We still have plenty of things in bloom such as Chrysanthemums, Cosmos, Sedum, Rudbekia, Nerines and a few Narcissi have just started to bud up.
Mother Nature has really outshone herself this Autumn in the Brecon Beacons. The hills are a blaze of colour and with the misty mornings that we've had this week it just looks breathtaking.
Here's a couple of photos to give you an idea of the view from our plot.
That's all for today Bloomers.
Cathy
