Our florists in the flower barn are thrilled to bits with our Hydrangea blooms from the cutting patch. We have lots of glorious, blousy Hydrangea blooms ready to go out in our bouquets and autumnal bunches.

We also have a good few buckets of Hydrangea heads ready to be dried. Apologies but here comes the Christmas bit (being in the flower trade Christmas starts in August/September for us).....
We use dried Hydrangea heads in our natural Christmas decoration packs. A bowl/dish filled with Hydrangea heads with a few baubles nestled inamongst makes a fabulous table centerpiece for the Christmas table. Not only does it look great but it's so easy to do!
Or for the more adventurous amongst you, attach the Hydrangea heads onto a garland. Then simply 'deck the halls,' your mantlepiece, staircase, or even drape the garland over a mirror.
And our favourite way of using the heads for Christmas decorations is to simply throw them onto the Christmas tree. Yes, throw them! The Hydrangea heads simply 'stick' onto the branch of the tree (please be careful with any tree/fairy lights. Do not place the Hydrangea heads on/near any lights, candles, etc, as they may be a fire risk.) You can also do the 'throw and stick' decorating of the tree with dried Allium heads.
Right, that's enough about Christmas for the time being.
On with the task of scouring the 2011 seed catalogues....
Keep bloomin'
Cathy
